Vatican City has for centuries been perceived in the public consciousness as the official spiritual and administrative center of the Catholic Church, yet beneath this external façade lie much deeper, esoteric, and dark layers of history. Official historiography claims that this location was chosen because of the tomb of Saint Peter, but deeper investigations reveal a completely different foundation for this territory. The Vatican Hill (Mons Vaticanus), located on the opposite side of the Tiber River from the traditional seven hills of Rome, was long considered a dirty, swampy, and cursed place where the Romans did not even want to live.
 
The very word "Vatican" does not derive from Christian roots, but from the ancient Etruscan settlement of Vaticum or even from the ancient Etruscan god of prophecies Vaticanus (or Vagitanus), who ruled over the human voice and future prophecies. On this hill, well before the dawn of Christianity, stood a pagan temple dedicated to underworld and prophetic deities, where ancient priests performed occult rituals. During the Roman Republic, this territory lay outside the holy boundary of the city (pomerium), which is why criminals were legally buried here, the dead were cremated, and dark incantations related to the underworld were performed.
 
The bloodiest phase of this place dates back to the 1st century, when Emperor Caligula established the surroundings of his circus here, and his successor Nero turned this location into an arena for mass executions of Christians. Following the Great Fire of Rome in 64 AD, Nero arrested thousands of believers and condemned them to the most brutal deaths: Christians were burned alive as torches, torn apart by beasts, or mass-crucified directly in the vicinity of the present-day Saint Peter's Basilica. These bloody sacrifices stained the soil of the hill with the blood of the innocent, and mediums and regression hypnotherapists who have explored this space claim that the emotional and energetic shock of this terror still lingers in the subterranean layers.
 
The tortures were characterized not only by the death penalty, but also by highly refined, sadistic mockery aimed at completely degrading the condemned. It is believed that it was in this circus, following tortures, that the Apostle Peter also died or was crucified; his tomb, as early Christians later believed, was secretly buried in the cemetery lying adjacent to the circus. Although the circus itself was abandoned in the mid-2nd century and the area was later built over with tombs, the remains and ashes of thousands of tortured bodies became mixed with the soil of this place.
 
In the 4th century, when Emperor Konstantine ordered the sloping of the Vatican Hill to be leveled for the construction of the first basilica, the structures of the old circus were brutally flattened, and part of the cemeteries and execution sites ended up directly beneath the foundations of the future sanctuary. For centuries during construction, ancient structures and remains continued to be uncovered. Today, in the Vatican underground and beneath the floor of the basilica, the historical layer of this blood still hovers—soil where imperial tyranny, the suffering of innocent Christians, and ancient pagan rituals intertwined.
 
The current grand Saint Peter's Basilica began to be built in the 4th century by order of Emperor Constantine over the presumed tomb of Saint Peter, yet the esoteric perspective links this step to the old pagan grid. During construction, Nero's old circus was simply leveled to the ground, and the Egyptian obelisk standing at its center (now located in the square) was left as a powerful symbol of the sun and occult power, absorbing all the energy of the place. Psychics and clairvoyants claim that an extremely strong psychic field is sensed in the Vatican cellars—allegedly, items possessing strong occult or magical power, confiscated from ancient civilisations or pagan tribes, are still kept there so they may never see the light of day.

The late chief exorcist of the Vatican, Father Gabriele Amorth, publicly revealed that during his long service he performed more than ten thousand exorcisms, and in the Vatican itself he periodically combats dark forces possessing high-ranking clergymen. According to him and other witnesses, real spiritual battles take place at night in the corridors of the Vatican, and the walls of the palaces themselves absorb not only holiness, but the deepest human evil.
 
Mediums who have visited Vatican territory or studied its energetics remotely describe this place as a giant energetic labyrinth where light and radical dark authoritarianism intertwine. In their visions, Vatican City looks like a fortress built upon a cliff of tears and pain, where the spirits of ancient Romans and pagans still wander the shadows of the corridors, unable to accept that their sanctuary was forcibly hijacked by new dogmas. It is said that among these writings are instructions on how to control mass consciousness and access secret cosmic energies, by utilizing which medieval popes gained absolute political power in Europe.
 
Finally, despite the image of modern Vatican City as a small independent state with its own bank and diplomatic networks, its true essence remains deeply mysterious. It is a place where past pagan rituals, Christian suffering, the souls of thousands of crucified individuals, and centuries of archival secrets merge into one unreadable whole. All these elements shape the Vatican not only as a religious center, but as a vast esoteric point of the world, guarding secrets whose disclosure could fundamentally shake the entire Western civilization.
