Kažkodėl nusprendžiau prisiminti ne per seniausiai mirusio atlikėjo George Michael (1963-2016) ir jo tikriausiai vieną žinomiausių dainų „Careless Whisper“. Buvęs grupės „Wham“ vienas iš pagrindinių narių, šią dainą įrašė ir išleido 1984 metais albumui „Make It Big“. Nors šis singlas eina kaip dueto „Wham“, tačiau apskritai daina laikoma pirmuoju G. Michael singlu ir vienu sėkmingiausiu. Atlikėjas tikra devinto dešimtmečio legenda, kurio populiarumas beveik prilygo pačiam Michael Jacksonui. Beje, tai vienas labiausiai parduodamų britų atlikėjų per visą istoriją.

Šis singlas buvo toks populiarus, kad tiek JAV, tik Europoje tapo karščiausiu metų hitu ir daugiau nei 25 šalyse pasiekė topo viršūnę (įdomu, ką tuo metu klausėsi lietuviai?). Jo parduota visame pasaulyje atskirai be albumo 6 milijonai įrašų. Kūrinys labiausiai žinomas dėl jame dominuojančio saksofono, kurio melodija buvo kaip skiriamuoju G. Michael muzikos ženklu, panaudotu daugybėje serialų, TV laidų ir filmuose kaip garso takelio fragmentas.
